CNS has three ways of fund generation: membership fees, sponsorship from supporters and project based funding for specific programs. CNS does not agree to funds accepting the donors' terms and conditions when they are in conflict with the guiding principles of the organization. In addition, CNS only works in collaboration with like-minded national and international organizations on national strategic issues. CNS also organizes interaction and events with national and international organizations. CNS has a good number of researchers, intellectuals and activists. Researchers are basically in the areas of sociology, anthropology, economics, political science, international relations, security, natural resource management, ecology etc.
